October 21, 2026 | Week October 19–23, 2026

Frank on the company behind the ticker

Lycia Therapeutics caught my attention because its proposed medicine does something more ambitious than block a troublesome protein: it aims to remove it. The South San Francisco company calls its approach LYTAC, using a cell's disposal machinery to break down selected proteins outside cells. Founder Carolyn Bertozzi's research underpins the science; Aetna Wun Trombley leads the business. [4]

The first patients matter more than the scientific pedigree. Lycia's pipeline lists LCA-0061 in Phase 1 for elevated IgE and food allergy, and LCA-0321 in Phase 1 for Graves' disease. These are experimental treatments. A change in a biological marker can be encouraging without proving that patients will experience a lasting improvement. [6]

Stan on the price and the runway

Lycia's October 20 filing proposes 14.7 million new shares at $16–$18. At the $17 midpoint, gross proceeds would be $249.9 million, with approximately $227.8 million remaining after estimated fees and expenses. The joint bookrunners are Jefferies, TD Cowen, Evercore ISI and Guggenheim; LifeSci is passive bookrunner. [3]

The filing reports $148.1 million of cash and marketable securities at June 30, a $19.2 million first-half loss and no product sales. Management projects funding into the second half of 2029 after the IPO, while warning that more financing is needed to reach approval. Its plans combine existing resources and new proceeds to advance three clinical programs. [3]

That is a research runway, not a promise of profitability. At a proposed price, investors are paying for the probability of future clinical and commercial success. Comparing this company with a profitable drugmaker would conceal the difference. The questions are whether trials demonstrate useful patient outcomes, whether manufacturing can support them, and how much additional capital will be required. A lower cash balance later would not be surprising; the question is what evidence the spending buys.

Frank on the other calendar entries

Bitari's timetable conflicts: IPOScoop lists this week; Webull lists November 5. Neither establishes a confirmed debut. [13] It hosts and maintains Bitcoin-mining equipment; IPOScoop reports $11.08 million revenue and $0.46 million net income for the twelve months ended April 30, 2026. Those figures describe an operating business, not the economics of every proposed expansion. [1][9]

Its SEC amendment proposes 4,285,715 shares at $7, or approximately $30 million gross. Chang Yao and Lawrence D. Cofield are co-chief executives. AI Power X would retain 85.87% voting control after the base offering. Forty percent of net proceeds is allocated to acquisitions and investments without an identified target. Outside shareholders would therefore accept both concentrated control and discretion over expansion spending. [8]

Web3Labs, a Hong Kong services business supporting blockchain companies, is reported postponed by IPOScoop. Its former $4–$5 terms remain historical proposals; October 22 is not a live trading commitment. Webull still displays October 22; that conflict does not overturn the postponement report. No replacement date was verified. [5][13]

Starton Holdings appears on Webull for October 23, but IPOScoop gives no trading date and different share terms. It develops continuous-delivery cancer treatments. The calendar retains it as unconfirmed rather than treating a broker display as a listing announcement. [11][12]

Future dates and the remaining questions

Friday, October 23 is Lycia's tentative first-trade date on IPOScoop, cross-checked against Renaissance's weekly listing. No trading time or final pricing date was verified. Bitari and Starton require authoritative date confirmation. Final prices and completed offerings for this week were not established in the calendars checked. [1][2]

As of the stated research cutoff, Lycia's news and pipeline pages, Bitari's official site, the offering filings and event searches yielded no additional specifically dated future investor meeting, earnings call, presentation or regulatory decision for these candidates. This is a finding about those sources, not an assertion that the companies have no news. [3][6][7][8][10]

The next useful evidence is a final prospectus or exchange notice: proposed terms and conflicting calendars are not completed sales.
